#125 – May the 4th be with you!

It’s May already this year really is flying by quickly. That’s great and things are finally opening up here in Ireland. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, finally!

I wanna travel and go abroad, I want to be on the beach again. Feel the sea air blow through my hair, get the smell of the sea air again and listen to the waves crash against the shore. It really is the little things in life that we can’t function properly without.

Last month I started and finished Boardwalk Empire. All 56 episodes I watched in a 3 week period. Overall I really enjoyed the show, the cast, writing, directing and the set design. They really make the roaring 20’s and the boardwalk feel so alive, vibrant and real. For me though season 1 & 2 are the show at it’s finest. The conflict set up between Nucky, the Commodore, Gillian Darmody and my favourite character on the show James (Jimmy) Dormady. Portrayed by Michael Pitt he stole the show for me and his conflict with Nucky is truly fascinating to watch unfold.

What else did I watch lately. Each week I catch up with podcasts. Talking Sopranos is my jew favourite thing to look forward to on Monday morning. The GREATEST TV show of all time now has a great podcast to accompany it for the big fans of the series. Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirippa are incredible hosts too. Just like the Sopranos there’s an abundance of comedy too, it’s always a fun listen. Keeping up with Steve and his wing o meter is priceless.

I’ve been watching some Curb your enthusiasm, Family guy, Sopranos, American dad and a lot of YouTube. Mostly I’ve been keeping it light. Having said that now I did just watch hearts of darkness the making of Apocalypse now and that’s nearly a more intense story than the plot of the film at times.

I’m about halfway through season 2 of the Steven Van Zandt series Lilyhammer. So far it’s really enjoyable. It feels like a combination of The Sopranos mixed with Fargo.

I’ve been spending as much time as i can outside but the weather is having its own thought in that matter. Painting, gardening and getting the place beer garden, BBQ ready. What can I say I’m optimistic about it this year.

The days keep flying by so maybe for the first time in a long time we’ll be back to normal sooner rather than later.

To all the Star Wars fans out there who may be reading this. May the 4th be with you all

  1. Man history was made on this date
The genius of George Lucas first went on display in 1977. Excitement of people soaring high. Anticipating a kind of film genre they haven’t heard of. Kind of craze stirring was entirely unprecedented. Karie Fisher turned up to become millions’ femme fatale. Darth Vader’s super imposing voice and a story from far far away. Can’t explain how good it feels. I don’t know why I am feeling this way even though I am born in early 00s😅. Maybe my attraction towards the retro era makes me feel this way, lord knows.

    1. Hey I’m the same man, those original movies came out 20 years before I was born and I was 16 before I even watched them all but I still enjoy sitting back every now and then and watching some good ol Star Wars stuff. Especially the Mandalorian these days too, so great!

  2. This year is definitely one of the craziest I have ever been into, given the condition of our nation. I was all filled with positive energy and aura, don’t get me wrong I am still. I am excited to get over this pandemic thingy. I will be traveling to United States for my studies, it’s just that the sunshine ahead stigmatizes me to overlook the dark clouds I’m in rn.
