I love the way you bounced off the Kaufman character.
Did you also think of THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH and the charlatans involved? [both in real life and on the stage?]
He does seem to embody a genuine belief in Kaufman’s genius.
I understand why he thought comedy was “the lowest form of entertainment” – like lots of people think puns are the lowest form of humour and wit.
And the contrast between Kaufman’s deadpan ways and the agent’s enthusiasm. It is a hard one to play.
