Without a doubt there’s been some big ensemble casts over the years. From Avengers Endgame and Infinity war to the Ocean’s films and the likes of Boogie Nights and Lord of the rings. The biggest cast I’ve ever seen is hands down the 2001 Ridley Scott war film Black hawk down.
The story follows nearly 100 US Army Rangers that travel and fight their way to the capital of Mogadishu to retrieve the top two lieutenants of a Somali warlord. Each scene and just about every actor on screen is either an A list actor, TV star or familiar face.
I’m going to breakdown all the cast and the characters they play below. From the likes of Ewan McGregor to a very young Tom Hardy.

It’s gotta be the greatest cast ever assembled. Some of this was chance that so many of these actors would become famous and oftentimes incredibly famous. It’s a great film but everytime I almost get completely distracted by the crazy cast on screen. Seeing so many famous TV actors here was brilliant we got Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones , Phil Dunphy from modern family and Ari Gold from Entourage.
It’s just always been a film that stuck out in my mind for having an insane cast and now that I’ve taken up one or two minutes of your time I hope you’re thinking about it too.
